This is a duck puppet that my son and daughter gave me for Christmas. It quacks out "Old McDonald Had a Farm". Pum's father is a Buddhist monk. I brought the duck along for fun and he couldn't put it down! In this picture he is sitting with Pon, my five year old stepdaughter. Posted by Picasa

Cambodia - Day 1

If Cambodia is NOT on your list of places to visit, it should be. In fact, it oughta be near the top. The smiles alone made my trip worthwhile. For friendliness, I have never been to a place that surpasses Cambodia. From the moment I was picked up at the Siem Reap International Airport to the time I sadly boarded the plane for my flight home I saw nothing but enthusiastic courtesy and a very real curiosity and friendliness. Khun Andy's neighborhood Part II

As promised, here are a few more neighborhood pictures. No doubt I'll post some more periodically, but I think you have a pretty good idea of where I live. This post mostly shows more of the food vendors that are so prolific all over Bangkok. You can get prepared food which you can take home and heat up or sit at small portable tables to eat right there. It's not ALL great, but lots of it is. Most of it does not taste like food from Thai restaurants in the USA. Those of you planning to venture over here at some point, put away your preconceived notions of Thai food based on your previous experience. Do NOT expect things to taste the same. Even my favorite Thai restaurants like Pearl of Siam or Old Siam in the Denver metro area that cook wonderful food, do NOT cook it in the same way one finds on the streets of Bangkok.
