Some of my favorite people pictures from my second trip to Siem Reap in May 2005

From time to time I will go back in time and post some pictures or stories from my time in Asia.  This first series features 25 of my favorite "people" pictures I took on my trip to Siem Reap in May of 2005.  At some point I will probably have to do a sequel.  Here is a picture of a small girl inside the great temple Angkor Wat. The next three are also taken inside the temple complex. The next two were taken inside a small market in Siem Reap. The next ones are from a trip to Tonle Sap; the huge lake not too far from Siem Reap. The next shots are from a local school.  I could have posted another fifteen or twenty pictures but I will save some for later. The rest are miscellaneous shots taken from in and around Siem Reap. I hope you enjoyed these older shots as they are some of my favorites from that trip!

Lunar New Year 2020 - Life In The Village

Image
This is my inaugural post for the rebooting of my old blog.  Many things have changed both in my life, in Thailand, and indeed in Southeast Asia in general.  I'll explore both past and present in words and pictures. Some will be humorous, some perhaps edifying and many just showing my life in the village. I retired at the end of June 2019 after spending the last fifteen plus years coaching and teaching swimming at international schools in Hanoi and Bangkok.  For me it was fifteen years well spent.  I have many great memories of swimmers, coaches and families.  During the course of my travels, my primary home has been Thailand. Most of this blog will focus on my ongoing life in the village although I will go back in time regularly.  I hope you all enjoy. All photos on this blog are taken by me unless otherwise credited. This photo was taken at our very local temple. For those facebook users you can find my previous posts about village life by searching for #LifeInTheVil
